About Me
Nebraska roots,
finance focus.
I'm a finance-focused investor who wants to help find and back the companies that will define the next decade. I grew up in Waterloo, Nebraska, a small town just outside Omaha, and was a four-year varsity basketball player. I had chances to keep playing at smaller colleges, but chose to bet on academics and a long-term career instead, which brought me to Arizona State.
Business and financial systems were part of my life early. My dad was a fintech software engineer at ACI Worldwide, and my mom worked in sales at the same company, which is how they met. I arrived at ASU thinking I'd go into wealth management, but quickly found I loved the technical side of finance more: modeling, valuation, and figuring out what an investment is really worth. That pulled me toward venture capital and private equity, and today I'm an Investment Researcher at LAUNCH, the venture capital firm founded by Jason Calacanis.
Outside of finance
Sports are still a big part of my life, just as a passion rather than a career. I follow college football and basketball closely (see the Stadium Tour) and play a rotating mix of intramural sports, especially ones outside my comfort zone. That competitive streak carries into how I work.
I've also seen investing up close through my family's Airbnb property in Scottsdale. Helping with bookings and pricing showed me how a small, cash-flow-driven real estate business actually runs, not just how it looks in a model. Looking ahead, I'm most excited about how AI will reshape industries and create new investment opportunities, and I want to be in the room identifying the founders building them.
